Ingredients for the filling:-

  • 1 pound (450 grams) ground Red Meat (or your preferred protein: Chicken, Pork, or Tofu)
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Ingredients for the toppings:-

  • Tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Sliced avocado
  • Sour cream
  • Grated cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your preference)
  • Salsa (store-bought or homemade)
  • Lime wedges


  1. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they become fragrant and translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef (or your choice of protein) to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula. Cook until the meat is browned and cooked through.
